Introduction:

Moong Dal Pakora shares its roots with other Indian fritters like Besan Pakora and Onion Pakora. These dishes are all variations of the same concept, with different primary ingredients but similar frying techniques. However, Moong Dal Pakora stands out due to its light, airy texture and subtle nutty flavor.

Ingredients:

•  1 cup split yellow mung dal (soaked for 2 hours)

•  2 green chilies, finely chopped

•  1 inch ginger, grated

•  1 teaspoon cumin seeds

•  1/2 teaspoon red chili powder

•  1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder

•  Salt to taste

•  1/4 cup water

•  Purti Sunlife Refined Sunflower Oil for frying

Instructions:

Step 1 : Prepare the Batter:

•   Drain the soaked mung dal and grind it into a smooth paste with the help of a blender or a grinder.

•   Add the chopped green chilies, grated ginger, cumin seeds, red chili powder, turmeric powder, salt, and water to the ground dal.

•   Mix well to form a smooth batter.

Step 2 :  Fry the Pakoras:

•   Heat Purti Sunlife Refined Sunflower Oil in a deep pan over medium heat.

•   Once the Purti Sunlife Refined Sunflower Oil is hot, carefully drop spoonfuls of the batter into the Purti Sunlife Refined Sunflower Oil.

•   Fry the pakoras until they are golden brown and crispy on both sides.

•   Remove the pakoras from the oil and drain on a paper towel.

Step 3 : Serve:

•  Serve hot with green chutney, tamarind chutney, and a sprinkle of chaat masala.
